As a result of the Fourth Industrial Revolution, the structure of industry is going through a period of intense change and the nature of work has become more specialized and subdivided. Society calls on the 21st century elites to not only learn expertise in their major, but also to grow into talented people with convergent knowledge. Reflecting these social needs, Seoul National University of Science and Technology established ‘Makers College’ to foster innovation in the university and nurture talented people. Consequently, in January 2021, it was renamed ‘The College of Creativity and Convergence Studies
In 2021, the College of Creativity and Convergence Studies established a ‘Department of Applied Artificial Intelligence’ to foster AI convergence talents by supporting a full-scholarship. And in 2022, it opened ‘The Department of Semiconductor Engineering
’ and ‘The Department of Future Energy Convergence
’ to serve the university and put it at the forefront of these high-tech fields.
The College of Creativity and Convergence Studies will develop an educational model that can flexibly respond to changes in the era of the Fourth Industrial Revolution and become a leader in convergence education as part of Seoul National University of Science and Technology.
